A change that I am facing to "stand tall" is to find a career. I have a graduate degree in psychology and cannot find work. The current economy is not helping because there are so many candidates for one position that I have not been able to secure a position. In addition, I accept responsiblity for having little experience outside of academics. I know I need to get a job, but I can only do what I can do. That is the following: apply and interview.
I am the only one responsible for the choices I have made that got me into this predicament. I know what I need to do and am doing it. This is just a small obstacle that will clear because I am resilient and will persevere because I am taking all the proper actions. Ultimately, I know I am making the best decisions and choices I can and am anticipating this change in my life. (Stage #6: Acceptance)

I know how it feels to have a hard time finding a job in the field that you studied. I am a certified massage therapist and it is very hard to get a job in that occupation
Lori,
I do understand what you are going through. It been 3 1/2 years since I came to this country and it was difficult for me to find a full time job; matter of fact, I spend all the time just going to school. The current economy was not helping... There are many who face the same situation. I was studying Interior Designing. After 1 1/2 years and nothing I enroll in LATTC and start studying Child Development. Like you I accept the situation and just hope that things will change. I finally got a full time job a week ago and guest what, it is in Child Development. Hang in there Lori and I know ‘good thing comes for those who are patient’. I believe that you are at stage 7 - ACTION. Don't you think so?
Lori have you considered teaching at a community college until you find full time employment?
Yes, I have been looking at the community colleges, but there have not been many positions with a master's in psychology. I did apply to Cerritos College to teach psychology…
